NSCDC arrests six suspected cable vandals in Benue

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Benue State Command, arrested six individuals suspected of vandalizing and stealing electricity cables. The operation, which followed a tip-off, led to the recovery of stolen cables and tools used for the illegal activity in the Gboko Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects were apprehended by NSCDC operatives who acted on intelligence about their activities. The team raided their hideout and caught them with the stolen items.

The vandalism and arrest took place in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

During the arrest, the NSCDC team recovered several incriminating items, including:

  • Large bundles of stolen high-tension aluminum cables.
  • Tools used for cutting the cables, such as hacksaws and cutlasses.
  • A vehicle suspected to be used for transporting the stolen materials.

The NSCDC used the opportunity to issue a stern warning to other criminals engaged in similar acts, advising them to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

The suspects are undergoing investigation and will be handed over to the appropriate prosecuting agency for prosecution once the investigation is concluded.
