25 injured in mass sho0ting at school and home in Canada

the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have confirmed a mass shooting occurred yesterday in the remote town of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia

The event is being described as one of the deadliest mass shootings in Canadian history. Here is the current breakdown of the situation:

The Casualties​Deceased: 10 people in total have died, including the suspect. ​6 people were found dead inside Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. ​1 person died while being transported to the hospital. ​2 people were found dead at a nearby residence believed to be connected to the school shooting. ​The Suspect was found dead inside the school from a self-inflicted injury. ​Injured: At least 25 to 27 people are injured. Two individuals were airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, while most others are being treated for non-life-threatening wounds

The Suspect: Police issued an emergency alert during the event describing the suspect as a woman with brown hair wearing a dress. While they believe they have identified her, her name and age have not yet been released to the public. ​The Timeline: The incident began around 1:20 p.m. local time on Tuesday, February 10. A “shelter-in-place” order was issued for the town of 2,400 residents and was lifted approximately four hours later once police confirmed there was no further threat. ​Motive: Authorities stated it is too early to determine a motive. They are currently searching additional properties to see if other sites are connected.

​Official Response​Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed he was “devastated” by the horrific acts of violence and has reportedly suspended his planned travel to the Munich Security Conference to remain in the country. British Columbia Premier David Eby called the event an “unimaginable tragedy” for the tight-knit mountain community.
