Tragedy In Katsina: Police Arrest 23-Year-Old Housewife For Allegedly Slitting Husband’s Throat While Asleep

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old housewife, identified as Sadiya Lawal, for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by slitting his throat while he was sound asleep.

The shocking incident, which has left residents of the Katsina metropolis in disbelief, occurred in the early hours of Monday, June 29, 2026.

How The Incident Happened

According to a statement released by the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the victim, Jamilu Ibrahim, narrowly escaped death.

At around 9:00 AM on Monday, Ibrahim managed to report the horrifying attack to the Central Market Police Division in Katsina. He stated that at about 5:30 AM, while he was still sleeping, his wife blindsided him and attacked his neck with a sharp knife.

Police Intervention and Suspect in Custody

Ibrahim sustained a deep, severe cut to his neck from the assault. Responding quickly to the report, police operatives rushed the bleeding husband to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel are currently treating him. Thankfully, reports indicate he is responding well to treatment.
