Popular Nigerian comedian, actor, and content creator Samuel Perry, professionally known as Broda Shaggi, has finally broken his silence on the harrowing ordeal that kept him away from the spotlight and social media for several months.

In an emotional video account shared on his YouTube channel, the award-winning entertainer revealed that he was hit by a stray bullet on March 9, 2026, while stuck in traffic following a brand activation job near the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

“Everywhere Went Silent” — How It Happened

Describing the terrifying moment the incident occurred, Broda Shaggi recalled how a quiet trip back from work turned into a fight for survival:

“We were done with the activation and were leaving. In fact, we were stuck in traffic because there was a crowd shooting. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang, and everywhere went silent. I could see people talking, but I couldn’t hear anything. Then I touched my hip and saw blood. That was when I realized I had been hit by a stray bullet.”

Medical Emergency & Surgery in Dubai

Following the shooting, the actor was immediately rushed by his crew to a nearby private hospital in Alakuko, Lagos State, where initial first aid was administered. Due to the severity of the gunshot wound near his hip, he was transferred to another medical facility in Ikeja for emergency care.

As his recovery required specialized treatment, Broda Shaggi traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he underwent a successful surgical operation.

Reflecting on his recovery, he shared how he feared he might never perform, dance, or play the drums again:

“It was a stray bullet, and it came right to my hip. What if it had hit my head or a vital organ? Throughout this period, I’ve just been grateful because it could have been worse. I’m still using crutches for support, but I can stand and walk on my own now. It’s a second chance.”

Coming Back Stronger

Broda Shaggi expressed deep gratitude to his fans and colleagues for checking in on him during his long absence and promised an energetic comeback with exciting new projects.

“You should be grateful to have Shaggi back on your screen because I’m coming with exciting projects right now. Get ready!
