How The Raid Happened In Potiskum

According to official reports from the Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the big move happened in Potiskum Local Government Area.

Acting on highly credible intelligence, undercover operatives and a joint team from the Potiskum Area Command and Divisional Police Headquarters stormed a blacksmith workshop located at Tasha Adua along Danchuwa Road.

The police didn’t just stop by for a chat—they caught the suspects red-handed right inside the fabrication workshop!

7 Suspects In The Bag, Weapons Recovered

A total of seven suspected gunmakers were immediately arrested during the swift raid. Security forces also recovered several locally fabricated firearms, tools, and exhibits used in manufacturing these illegal weapons from the scene.

“The operation was carried out following credible intelligence on the activities of some blacksmiths engaged in the illegal fabrication of firearms,” SP Dungus Abdulkarim confirmed in a statement.

Right now, the seven suspects are chilling in police custody, undergoing intensive drilling and investigation. The police are trying to extract vital info to track down their buyers, major collaborators, and exactly what these weapons were intended to be used for.

The Yobe State Commissioner of Police, CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin, has highly commended the officers for their sharp eyes and swift action.
