American streamer Kai Cenat arrives in Nigeria for second visit

American streaming sensation Kai Cenat has officially returned to Lagos, Nigeria, for his highly anticipated second visit. Arriving on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, he was met with a vibrant reception at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, complete with traditional drum performances and a massive crowd of fans. This visit is more than just a social call; it marks a significant “follow-up” phase for his philanthropic commitments in the country.

Meeting with Governor Sanwo-Olu: Shortly after landing, Kai paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House, Marina. The Governor’s office confirmed the meeting, stating that the discussion focused on Kai’s ongoing initiatives for children and young people in the state.

The School Project Update: The primary focus of this trip is his pledge to build a school for the children of Makoko. During his first visit in 2024, Kai pledged $5 million toward the project.

Location Shift: While the original plan was to build in the floating community of Makoko, logistical and environmental hurdles (due to the area’s topography) led his team to relocate the site to Yaba, a more stable area nearby.

Progress Report: Kai recently revealed that over $1.1 million has already been raised through the Kai Cenat Foundation Inc., and he has previously donated nearly $130,000 for computers and immediate supplies for local students.

Kai’s return comes just weeks after another major streamer, IShowSpeed, toured Lagos, signaling a growing trend of global digital creators focusing on the Nigerian market

While many fans are celebrating his return (once again using his Nigerian nickname, “Femi Omo Werey”), others are looking for tangible “shovels in the ground” progress on the school during this stay. Would you like me to keep an eye out for any live streams Kai does from Lagos or find more details on his charity foundation’s roadmap?
